Undercover Attraction (Undercover #1) - April Rankin

Undercover AttractionUndercover Attraction by April Rankin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book had the potential, and while the romance was pretty good and some of the sex scenes were hot, the plot was too predictable and kind of unrealistic. I think the author could have made this book so much simpler but instead she came up with so many different plot lines and decided to just stuff it all in one book.

Beware of the major spoiler below... If you plan on reading this book, don't read below.

The heroine gets in danger because of someone else's mistakes, she gets shot in a car chase, she moves in with the hero while she heals and then her house gets blown up. She then is held hostage, drugged and beaten while her sister is also beaten and raped repeatedly while being held hostage. The heroine then gets shot during the rescue, end up in hospital, the hero then finds out she's pregnant, he wants to marry her, he also resigns from his job because its dangerous and he doesn't want the heroine to live in fear, he then asks her which she's over the moon about and then she finds out she is pregnant and is over the moon about that as well. After all this, when it came to the last chapter and the epilogue which shows their wedding and the birth of their child, I didn't even bothered reading it because sometimes I don't like when authors decide to take the cliché and predictable ending. It doesn't make it sweet, it makes it boring and uninteresting.
